Thank you Bill. Well done. We were riding with you.

Rod, thanks for re-sending Smitty’s e-mail. Reading it again under these circumstances less than three weeks later gives it even more significance.

I agree Rod.. I just got back from the internment at the National Cemetery in Bourne MA… I rode with the Patriot Guard Riders… there were about 20 of us.. we lined both sides of the area each holding a full size flag… there were 4 marines in dress blues who did the military honors and a real bugler who played taps… I read the poem to the Patriot Guard and gave it to his brother… sadly there were only about 10 friends and family there … I spoke to his brother briefly and told him he was loved and respected by all his brothers in arms… see you in July and we will have a drink for Maverick

I know some of us are wondering about the reunion now that Eric has passed away.  I am forwarding the last email I received from Eric that was addressed to Lt. Green on March 30.  As you can see, his last sentence encourages all of us to “come to the reunion and talk to people as we might not get the chance to do it again”.   I think we all know that Eric’s intention was for all of us to reunite in person to talk about, not only the good times, but also the terrifying times that we faced together.  Yes, Smitty was going to be, as Bruce says, “the life of the party”, but I just know Smitty, in his personal way of caring for us and our ordeals, would want us to get together as if he would be there.  Those are just my thoughts guys.

Semper Fi,

Rod

Too bad Al-

I was really hoping to hear something about Dennis. I mean just connecting with him would have been great. Anyway lately we’ve been getting  a lot of good news as far as finding  the guys, but then we here about Sully and now Sgt Wolford. And at such an early age.

So we get a little bad in-between some good news. Hmm? Just another reason to come to a reunion and talk to some people as we might not get the chance to do it again.

Guys-

Some sad news. My search for Sgt. Wolford turned up this.
